We initially relied on PointClickCare's IPC program for our infection surveillance, which was heavily dependent on spreadsheets for reporting. Much of our tracking and reporting was done in Excel, where we had to manually update infection logs, create and modify infection maps, and build graphs for reporting purposes.
As our needs grew, we introduced HealthConnex and integrated it with PCC. This shift significantly improved our daily workflow. Instead of manually entering resident details, medications, and vaccination information, we can now pull that data directly from PCC into HealthConnex with just a click of a button. What once required multiple steps across different tools can now be accomplished in one place, enhancing our infection case management. HealthConnex serves as an all-in-one reporting tool. It enables us to link antibiotic medications directly to infection cases, access vaccination records quickly, and generate reporting graphs automatically, eliminating the need to recreate them in Excel. With the MyAudits function, the possibilities for data collection and reporting are extensive across all QAPI initatives. It has helped us transition from paper and spreadsheet-based tracking to a fully digital system, complete with customizable audits and dashboards. Overall, the integration of PCC with HealthConnex has transformed our process from a manual, spreadsheet-driven workflow to a more connected and efficient system for infection prevention, surveillance, and compliance reporting.

We’ve had a very positive experience with HealthConnex. I truly love the app. From an IPAC perspective, it allows me, as CNO, to monitor all of our homes at a glance and quickly see what’s happening across the organization. That level of visibility is incredibly valuable. The integration with PCC has also been a significant benefit. Having systems that speak to each other improves efficiency and supports better oversight. I can’t say enough about the audit side of the platform. We’ve used it for program evaluations, monthly reporting, compliance audits, and quality improvement initiatives. It’s simple to use, adaptable to our needs, and has helped streamline so many of our processes. We’ve even implemented the QR code feature to make audits more accessible and user-friendly for staff.
